Kids Room Ideas: 6 Ways To Refresh Your Kid’s Room
Are you looking to redecorate your kid’s room because your little one has outgrown the original decor or simply because you want a new look? Styling your kid’s bedroom is always a challenge since you want it to reflect what your child will love both now and for the years to come. We’ve rounded up some kids room decorating ideas to help keep it beautiful and functional.
1. Spice It Up With One Wall
If you’re up for having a “wow” makeover effect, painting a wall that’s the focal point of the room or putting wallpaper on an accent wall can instantly elevate the look. Go for removable wallpapers so you can change to something your child will love as they get older. If that’s too much of a commitment, you can also consider wall stickers that’d add a splash of fun to the room.

2. Add A Bit Of Lighting
Night light for kids these days are more than just simple lights you plug in by the bedside. Lamps from Egmont are also adorable decorations that keep your little ones feel safe and secure in the dark, and make them sleep more soundly at night.

3. Build A Little Sanctuary Within The Room
If you have enough space, consider having a dedicated corner for your child to have some quiet, alone time. It can be as simple as having a reading nook made up of a beanbag and cushions, or a teepee that allows your child to read, nap and play. We also love Oliver Furniture loft bed, which provides a safe haven for play and quiet time under the bed while saving space in the room.

4. Think In Your Child’s Shoes
As adults, we tend to hang and store things at our eye-level, which is not that accessible for our little humans. Instead, put yourself in your child’s shoes and make sure things are easily accessible on your child’s eye level. You can have toys and books tucked away in a basket or bin on a low shelf so they can reach for them easily. Hang hooks lower at their eye level so they can put their bags and jackets by themselves. When you decorate your child’s room from their perspective, it helps them function better in their own space and become more confident of themselves as they take care of their room.

5. Add Layers Of Textures
Throwing pillows, blanket or rug into a room can make the space feel cozier and more welcoming. Having layers of textures in the room keeps a space from falling flat. One of the easiest ways to transform a room is by adding a new rug and making it a centrepiece in the room. Lorena Canals offers a wide range of machine-washable, all natural cotton and wool rugs, and we’re sure there’s something for everyone (you might find a rug that you’d want to put in your masters bedroom too!). If you’re looking for throw pillows, check out nobodinoz, Atelier Choux and Lorena Canals.

6. Let Your Child Be Part Of The Process
Get your child involved in the redecorating process! It’s a great way for your child to be creative and spend quality time together. They can decide which toys they want to place on their shelves, and which wall to hang their art. When it comes to a significant design decision, you can narrow it down to a few choices on your own, present them to your kid and ask them to choose which one they want. Letting your child have the final choice helps them express themselves creatively while keeping both kiddos and parents happy.
